On June 15, 2022, the Islamic State-affiliated Al-Saqri Foundation for Military Science published its first issue of its Remote Detonation Series in the Arabic language. The instructions are divided into two parts: the first part explains the known, familiar modification of a Nokia mobile phone to a delay and RC initiation system. The second part explains how to build a tidy solder circuit with safety features that enables the user to easily switch from testing the initiation system to implementing it in the field. For novice users with no previous experience in soldering, the second part of the manual will most likely be time-consuming and somewhat complicated, likely leading to mistakes and failure. However, an experienced or patient person will be able to produce with cheap and available components a safer and more operationally reliable Nokia 1280 mobile phone-based initiation system with secured electronic connections.
