TGA0740 – Armenian Loitering Munitions, Armed UAVs and UAV Ammunition

The current round of violence between Azerbaijan and Armenia has revealed the latter’s use of various UAV platforms, including an unknown loitering munition and an armed COTS DJI Mavic-3 quadcopter. As ammunition for the armed UAVs, the Armenians use locally-produced munitions not previously documented in the field, mainly the DJ-1U grenade, fish bait bombs, used to restrain the lever of a grenade until impact with the ground, and the previously undocumented BN-3 bomblet. Inspired by the ongoing war in eastern Europe, the escalation on the border is an opportunity for Armenia to test these new weapons in the field.
