Mobius report 30/2026 – PTM-K2N Magnetically-Initiated Anti-Vehicle Mine

Since late 2025, a new model of an anti-vehicle mine has begun appearing in the combat arena between Russia and Ukraine. This mine, known as the PTM-K2N, is a shaped-charge mine designed to be dropped from UAVs. Its overall structure is reminiscent of the POM-2 mine: it has a cylindrical shape and six spring-loaded fins around its circumference that deploy after it is dropped in the field. This mine is equipped with a magnetic electronic initiation system that arms after a delay. It is commercially produced (manufactured by a private company) and is not officially supplied by the military industry. Since its appearance in the arena, several videos have been released providing explanations and shedding light on its internal structure and method of operation.
