On July 19, 2022, Russian mass media sources posted a video report, showing a workshop of Ukrainian forces, located in Lysychansk (Luhansk Oblast.) In the video, a soldier from the Ahmad Battalion (a special unit, part of the troops of the National Guard of Russia, based in the Chechen Republic) presents an improvised anti-personnel mine with a standard pressure fuze in the center. The IED can be emplaced with the fuze protruding on top, as a pressure switch, or with the metal plate on the base facing up, which increases the surface contact area for initiation, essentially creating a pressure plate.
