On September 28, 2022, at around 10:20 PM, an IED initiated on an empty bus at the Baigra Petrol pump gas station in the Domel Chowk area of Udhampur, in Jammu and Kashmir. Two people were slightly injured as a result of the explosion. Less than eight hours later, at around 6:00 AM, on September 29, 2022, another explosion occurred in an empty bus parked at an old bus station in Udhampur, about 4 km from the scene of the first blast, this one with no casualties.
According to reports, in both incidents, IEDs fitted with timers set for 7 and 14 hours, respectively, were used. After the attacks, a number of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish Muhammad operatives were arrested, and IEDs were seized from their possession, some of which are known to be made in Pakistan. The People’s Anti-Fascist Front, affiliated with LeT and JeM, claimed responsibility for both attacks.
