On October 8, 2022, at around 6 AM, a powerful explosion occurred on the Crimean road-and-rail Bridge, on the section leading from the Taman Peninsula, in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, to Kerch, in Russia-occupied Crimea. The explosion ignited seven fuel tanks on a train traveling toward Crimea, causing the partial collapse of two road traffic lanes of the bridge. The main arch over the navigable waterway, used by maritime traffic, was not damaged.
