On May 5, 2023, a pro-Russia Telegram channel published a Russian translation of a Ukrainian instructional manual for various booby trap methods for the UZRG fuze of the F-1 hand grenade. Aside from the grenades, the booby traps documented in the manual only require simple, readily available components. While most of the instructions in the manual are easy to follow, and although occasional precautionary steps and warnings are mentioned, many of the modifications mentioned in the manual are extremely dangerous, even for experienced combatants. Indeed, most of the recent documentation of tripwire booby traps from the battlefield indicates both sides are employing the most basic tripwire-based booby traps, with some emphasis on concealment and increasing the force of the explosion, rather than experimenting with more complex and risky modification methods.
