In the last two years, there has been a gradual escalation in the West Bank, which began in March 2021, and increased toward March 2022. As a result, Operation Break the Wave was launched, which actually continued until the last operation, in which the Israel Defense Forces entered Jenin on July 3, 2023, in Operation Home and Garden. The escalation was reflected in the attacks within the West Bank areas, mainly Nablus and Jenin, as well as in the attacks within Israel, with the origin of most of the threats coming from those areas. In addition, an intensification was evidenced in the IEDs used, starting with small IEDs fitted with burn fuse thrown at IDF vehicles, up to large, powerful IEDs, placed in gully drains, and initiated from a distance.
