On the night of July 17, 2023, Russian authorities reported the Crimean Bridge had been attacked for the second time since the beginning of Russian-Ukrainian war. As a result of the attack, two people were killed and one was injured. A section of the road part of the bridge was damaged. The Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee stated the bridge was attacked by two unmanned surface vessel water-borne IEDs.
