Mobius 96/2023 – UJ-26 Beaver Long-Range Loitering Munition, Ukraine

On December 19, 2023, the remains of a downed loitering munition reportedly fitted with a 20 kilograms main explosive charge and additional plastic explosives was found on the seashore close to the Lyubimovka suburb of Sevastopol, in Crimea. Images of the disassembled improvised payload were posted in a Telegram channel chat, according to which, the payload was a shaped charge.

Reportedly, the loitering munition is a Ukrainian “Beaver,” the same model allegedly used in attacks targeting central Moscow earlier this year.

This new loitering munition joins other fixed-wing loitering munitions that comprise the fleet of long-range UAS produced in Ukraine used to attack targets in Russia in the current war.
