Mobius report 91/2024 – Magnetic Field Sensor Fuzing Mechanisms for Standard Mines, Ukraine

The Ukrainian theater of operations continues to produce a variety of magnetic sensor-based initiation systems. In addition to the Djonik and MAG-3 mechanisms, a new magnetic sensor system variant was recently introduced with a casing designed specifically for TM-62 anti-tank and PTM-3 scatterable AT mines. The system features two targeting modes, making it possible to target either the first or the second vehicle in a convoy.

The sensitivity of the magnetic sensing mechanism also poses a risk when approached by a person carrying a firearm, a communication device, or metal tools. Furthermore, any attempt to move it, even using non-metal equipment, will cause a change in the surrounding magnetic field and activate the mechanism.
