On the morning of April 25, 2025, an explosion occurred in a vehicle in the city of Balashikha, in Moscow Oblast. The blast resulted in the death of Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, a high-ranking official in the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The investigation revealed an IED was planted in a vehicle parked near the entrance to the building where the target resided, and was initiated remotely as he approached the vehicle.
