On May 5, 2025, a 10-kilogram RCIED concealed in a motorcycle was successfully neutralized in Khuzdar, Balochistan. While the intended target and the group responsible for planting the IED remain unidentified at this time, the IED initiation system was particularly notable for its complexity and its uncommon configuration. The system incorporated multiple power sources and an array of electrically interconnected components, centered around a MiFi device – a first documented instance of its kind in Pakistan. This marks the first documented use of a Wi-Fi-enabled RCIED initiation system in Pakistan.
