On May 30, 2022, an IED initiation badly damaged a vehicle owned by the family of a pro-Russia politician in the center of Melitopol city. The politician was not in the vehicle at the time. Several people were reportedly injured by the blast. During the past month, significant efforts to assassinate pro-Russia officials and Russia-appointed administrators in areas occupied by the Russians, including Enerhodar, Kherson and Melitopol, has been evidenced, using mainly roadside IEDs or sticky IEDs attached to the targets’ vehicles.
