Armed drones have become common offensive weapons used by Ukrainian forces in recent months. Commercial payload dispensers were initially used to turn these platforms into armed drones, but more recently, there has been increased documentation of improvised and 3D printed release dispensers. In addition, during June 2022, a video was uploaded to Telegram documenting the 3D printing of parts for bomblets, including a tail section and part of an extension for a point-detonating fuze, and their use by Ukrainian security forces.
Offers to produce various types of improvised bomblet dispensers for use with armed UAVs in the Ukrainian arena, as part of civilian assistance to Ukrainian security forces, have also recently started to appear online.
