TGA0799 – Noteworthy Attacks Against Israel by Iranian Proxy Groups

Between July 18 and July 27, 2024, two noteworthy attacks were carried out in Israel by Iranian proxy groups. The first was a loitering munition attack in western Tel Aviv by the Houthis, and the second was a Falaq-1 rocket attack on Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights by Lebanese Hezbollah.
In the Palestinian context of the “unification” of the resistance fronts against Israel – that is, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jerusalem and the “1948 Israeli Arabs” living in Israel – the two attacks were joined by an unusual (failed) attempt by a Palestinian from Nablus, in the West Bank, to initiate an IED concealed in a backpack in southeastern Tel Aviv. The explosion is believed to have been an attempted PBIED attack, resurfacing an old TTP that was used frequently by the Palestinians during the 1990s and the 2000s, and has rarely been seen since.
These attacks demonstrate once again the challenge posed to the State of Israel by the multitude of active combat arenas, agitated by Iran and its proxy groups it supports as the Unification of the Arenas doctrine, especially since the outbreak of the Toufan al-Aqsa / Iron Swords War on October 7, 2023.
