Mobius 63/2024 – Improvised Dispensers for Dispersing AP Mines from Drones, Ukraine

During April 2024, documentation of the preparation and use of an improvised dispenser for dispersing PMN-4 anti-personnel mines from Russian drones was published on a Russian Telegram channel. The mine has an arming delay mechanism that allows it to be dropped from height and dispersed from the air without fear of initiation upon impact with the ground. Additional documentation of the use of the improvised dispenser for dispersing PMN-4 mines from drones was posted by Russian accounts on July 12, 2024.
Concurrently, the dispersal of additional AP mines was documented, including the modification of POM-2 mines for dispersal by drone, as well as the use of standard and improvised cassettes for PFM-1 and PTM-1 scatterable mines released from drones.
