On March 4, 2022, Donetsk People’s Republic forces, in the framework of Operation Mariupol Caldron, recovered improvised drone bomblets, as well as various standard weapons, including mortar shells, at a “Bears” militia base specializing in UAV operations in the village of Berdyanske, near Mariupol, in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. On March 5, 2022, the forces raided a base of the “Right Sector” militant group in the neighboring village of Sopyne. At this base, an improvised laboratory for making drugs and an IED workshop were found. Among the items recovered from the workshop were IEDs, parts for drone bomblets, including assorted 3D printed tail sections, payload-release systems, fragmentation and standard ammunition, including thermobaric RPGs.
