On February 13, 2026, a vehicle loaded with barrel IEDs was seized after crashing into a tree in the city of Kohat, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Pakistan, apparently near the outer wall of the Kohat Cantonment. According to reports, the suspect fled the scene. Recently, numerous barrel IEDs and other large IEDs have been documented in KPK, as well as in Karachi, in southern Pakistan’s Sindh Province. In Karachi, the IEDs were attributed to the Bashir Zeb network of the Balochistan Liberation Army and the Majeed Brigade, while barrel IEDs in the KPK area are generally attributed to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan.
