TGA0874 – First Operational Use of Iranian Hadid-110 Loitering Munition

In the course of the 2026 war between Iran, the United States, and Israel, which began on February 28, 2026, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps employed the Hadid-110 loitering munition operationally for the first time during March 2026. Additionally, Iranian proxies in Iraq reportedly used this loitering munition for the first time, targeting American positions.

The operational debut of the Hadid-110, introduced as Iran’s fastest loitering munition, highlights the continued development of Iranian loitering munition capabilities and reinforces Iran’s saturation-based strike strategy. When used alongside Shahed-series loitering munitions, it multiplies attack vectors and may complicate air-defense responses, although it has not been proven that the Hadid-110 can effectively challenge advanced air-defense systems. Additionally, the near-simultaneous deployment with Iraqi proxies, suggests prior coordination to conduct simultaneous, region-wide attacks on sensitive targets.
