Since approximately November 2024, documentation of different types of miniature improvised scatterable anti-personnel mines deployed by Ukrainian forces from UAVs in different locations have begun appearing in the Ukrainian combat arena.
Several distinct subtypes of these miniature improvised AP mines can be identified, all sharing key characteristics such as compact dimensions and 3D-printed casings. These rudimentary yet functional IEDs typically comprise a plastic casing, a small quantity of plastic explosives, a basic mechanical initiation system, a detonator, and sometimes, an improvised safety pin.
