During the last week of July 2025, four Shihab loitering munitions were documented around Erbil, in Iraqi Kurdistan. These events mark the first documented use of this platform by entities other than the Houthis in Yemen, and the second time it has been seen in use overall. This event highlights the continous proliferation of Iranian technology and weapon systems to its various proxies across the Middle East in order to increase its regional influence.
