Mobius report 84/2025 – Lamanho Remote Initiation Systems

Between October and November 2025, Lamanho – a Chechen-origin jihadist project producing instructional material on IED and HME preparation – released three guides collectively presented as remote initiation systems. The publications outline the assembly of two radio-controlled initiation systems, employing a mobile phone and a handheld two-way radio, and one time-delay initiation system based on a digital kitchen timer. The guides were published in both Russian and English.

In all three designs, the activation source – whether an RF transmission, phone signal or timer alarm – delivers an electronic pulse through the device’s speaker terminals, which in turn activates an SCR-based amplifier circuit connected to a separate power source. Each system employs the same improvised HMTD-filled syringe detonator, derived from an earlier dedicated Lamanho tutorial.
