On the evening of August 29, 2026, several armed, masked assailants arrived on motorcycles at the Global House store in Pattani, southern Thailand. They subdued the guards at the entrance and evacuated employees and customers before reportedly placing three IEDs at different locations inside the store and fleeing. Approximately five minutes later, the devices detonated.
Responding security forces located a motorcycle with a cargo sidecar near the entrance, carrying a gas cylinder IED alongside an initiation system and fuel containers. The device was neutralized. The incident occurred one week after the start of a wave of coordinated attacks across Thailand’s southern provinces on August 22, 2026, which continued into September.
