On April 21, 2024, a civilian was injured in an explosion near the settlement of Kochav HaShahar in the Binyamin region of the West Bank. The civilian approached a Palestinian flag that had been placed on a stake in the middle of an open area. He kicked the flag in order to remove it, and an explosion occurred, slightly injuring him. In recent months, there has been an escalation in IED attacks in the West Bank using a variety of different lure TTPs, including baiting and predicting the reactions of forces in various scenarios, predicting the behavior of Israel Defense Forces soldiers, as well as repeating attack TTPs that have proved successful in the past.
