On November 9, 2024, a suicide bomber initiated his PBIED on a train station platform in Quetta, in Balochistan, Pakistan. At least 26 people were killed and 60 others were injured in the attack. The Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attack and identified the suicide bomber. The attacker targeted military personnel from the School of Infantry and Tactics, many of whom were present at the scene and accounted for a sizeable proportion of the casualties. Numerous fragmentation injuries were documented as well. Suicide bombing attacks, either PBIEDs or VBIEDs, is a growing TTP in Pakistan.
