Mobius report 72/2024 – Expansion of Standardized Armed UAV Ammunition Produced by Ukrainian Forces

Since late 2023, in response to evolving battlefield needs, Ukrainian defense industries and private companies have focused on expanding and enhancing the wide range of standardized ammunition specifically tailored for deployment from armed UAVs, produced in the country since the onset of the Russian invasion in 2022. This recent wave of the initiative has led to the creation of an ever-growing variety of models, all aimed at facilitating their use on the battlefield and enhancing performance. Since the beginning of 2024, the arsenal of standardized Ukrainian UAV ammunition evidenced in active combat use in the field has included two main families of bomblets with distinguishable features.

In May and June 2024, details of an ongoing development came to light when two Ukrainian catalogues detailing the technical characteristics of multiple standardized UAV ammunition items and their respective fuzes were leaked and disseminated online by Russian sources.
