Throughout the war, Russian and Ukrainian forces have primarily utilized Soviet-era stockpiles of standard shaped charges for the demolition of infrastructure. The Ukrainian theater has seen the introduction of various Western-produced demolition charges designed for a range of applications. These include the demolition and sabotage of infrastructure and stationary targets, as well as ambushes against enemy vehicles and off-route employment.
Some of these munitions have also been repurposed as improvised bomblets. Russian forces have recovered a number of these systems, which were subsequently transferred for further analysis and potential exploitation.
