On June 8, 2025, two explosions occurred approximately six minutes apart at two locations near the Ton Toh Rung Night Market in Pattani. The first IED initiated at 8:05 PM, at the entrance to the night market. The second IED initiated at 8:11 PM, outside the Palace Hotel, located in an alley at the opposite end of the market. The following morning, a suspicious object was reported in another area of Pattani. This led to the discovery of a third IED that had been planted there on the evening of June 8, at 7:50 PM, and was apparently intended to initiate at 8:00 PM, but had failed to do so. The neutralized device was a pipe IED with a digital timer-based initiation system. According to reports, the neutralized IED and the two IEDs that initiated the previous evening all shared identical characteristics.
