The April 25, 2026, offensive saw assaults on at least six major cities across Mali, including Kidal, Gao, Bourem in the north, Mopti in the center, and Bamako and Kati in the west. Additionally, a phone number with a Malian country code was investigated. Using the IMATM system, the number was found to be a member of different radical WhatsApp groups, mostly affiliated with the Islamic State.
