Beginning in late 2025 and continuing through mid-2026, FPV racing drone-based loitering munitions equipped with a number of new warheads started appearing in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict arena. These warheads are designated KOBE-80, KB-80, KOBE-3M, and TB-80 (some are also designated BCh-S8KOM). They feature high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) configuration with a V-5KPE1 base-detonating fuze activated by a piezoelectric crystal located at the nose of the warhead. This fuze is remotely armed by an operator command delivered through the UAV’s control system. While some of these warheads had already been seen at exhibitions in 2023, they were only recently documented in battlefield use, followed by the dissemination of written documentation and instructional videos that allowed for a structural analysis of the warheads and their fuzes.
