TGA0677 – Remote-Controlled Rifle used in Targeted Assassination, Dnipro, Ukraine

On December 8, 2021, at 9:10 AM, firefighters were called to the scene of a fire in a parked car near building 25, on Dmitra Yavornytskoho Avenue – the main street of the city of Dnipro, Ukraine. Before the fire started, shots were heard in the same area. It was established the fire had occurred in the passenger compartment of an Opel car. After the fire was extinguished, the firefighters discovered an assault rifle, which had been installed in the trunk of the car and rigged for remote firing. The incident was found to be an assassination attempt incorporating a remote-controlled and fired rifle fitted with a self-destruct mechanism.
