Terrogence Mobius report 92/2025 – VOIED with Improvised Hydraulic Pressure-Actuated Initiation System, Ukraine

In late November and early December 2025, a Russian Telegram channel alleging affiliation with the Russian airborne forces shared a short instructional video for a drone-delivered VOIED. The video depicts the use of an MUV fuze paired with an improvised explosive payload and a victim-operated improvised hydraulic/pneumatic initiation system consisting of a liquid-filled tube and a syringe.

Although the concept and its execution present multiple practical and safety limitations in a combat environment, the employment of an MUV fuze in this configuration is atypical for the Russian-Ukrainian theater of operations. The design represents a departure from the fuze’s more common tripwire-based applications and suggests an alternative mode of victim-operated initiation.

Throughout the war, Russian instructional materials have periodically highlighted non-standard uses of the MUV fuze, including integration with drone-delivered VOIEDs, use as a point-detonating fuze for improvised loitering munitions, and pairing with inconspicuous objects, such as wallets containing small explosive charges.
