Between July and September 2025, the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan documented three types of UAVs operated by the Sudanese Armed Forces across multiple regions. They recorded wreckage and, in some cases, associated munitions – confirming the active deployment of Turkish-made UAVs in Sudan’s conflict zones.
The presence of Turkish UAVs in Africa – particularly in Sudan – reflects Ankara’s expanding geopolitical and military footprint. Through arms exports, training programs, and defense agreements, Turkey has positioned itself as a key supplier of UAV technology to African states engaged in protracted conflicts, a trend that is increasing the technological sophistication of warfare across the region.
