Terrogence Mobius report 96/2025 – Lamanho Anti-Vehicle Radio-Controlled Magnetic IED Manual (2025)

In December 2025, the Chechen-origin jihadist media project Lamanho published an instructional manual titled “Anti-Vehicle Radio-Controlled Magnetic IED (2025)” via an Islamic State–affiliated RocketChat server. The publication provides step-by-step guidance for the assembly and deployment of an under-vehicle magnetic IED initiated via a hand-held radio-based RC system and employing ammonium-nitrate-based improvised explosives.

Technical and structural analysis indicates the 2025 manual is largely a reissue of Lamanho’s 2021 anti-vehicle magnetic IED manual, with only minor editorial and illustrative changes. Large portions of the document – including sections on operational planning, explosive selection, charge placement, and example attack outcomes – are nearly identical to earlier versions circulated between August–September 2021.

The sections detailing radio-based initiation systems and electronic voltage-amplification modules differ slightly in presentation; however, these components are identical in principle and imagery to material published by Lamanho in October 2025. The amplification circuitry techniques from the earlier manual can be traced further back to Russian-language instructional material disseminated by Dark Web actor FSB_Sasay between 2019–2021, indicating continued reliance on legacy Russian-source content.
